Spanning from early 20th-century 'classics' to contemporary trash-pop, the songs share melodies while diverging in lyrical interpretation. Greek songs and their appropriated Israeli counterparts merge into hybrids, assembled from fragments of video clips found on YouTube. Live performances, official music videos, stills, and fan interpretations from both countries converge in a meticulously composed audiovisual collage. Providing an immersive exploration as songs disintegrate and converge, blurring cultural boundaries, PLAYBACK creates a Karaoke experience celebrating the musical synergy between Greeks and Israelis.
